On My Honour_Teaser

A muffled ‘pop’ came first, then the sting in his shoulder. Aikins slapped a hand over it, dropping the drive he held in the process. It slid across the tiled floor till it hit a wall, coming to an abrupt stop. He stared at the crimson patch on his sleeve in confusion. Blood. He was bleeding.

Aikins turned just as he lowered his arm, a gun in hand. He clenched his jaw, reality now dawning on him.
“Who are you?”
He marched past the sofa, dark eyes trained on Ato. He thought of lunging for the drive as he got closer. And then what? He didn’t stand a chance.
He picked it up easily, a hint of victory showing in the way he looked at him now.
Aikins lowered himself unto a chair, his breath unsteady, the pain now more than a dull throb.
“It didn’t have to end this way, you know?” He took a step toward him. “You were given a choice.”
“Wait,” he swallowed, “you can’t do it here. This, the blood, … they’ll know it was murder. You don’t want that.”
He watched his face for something, anything to give him some direction what to say next. There had to be a way to get to her. He hadn’t survived the craziness of this day to end up slaughtered for nothing. But his eyes only darkened, gleamed even, as he took aim once again.
“Goodbye, Mr. Aikins.”

Hey you 🙂 I know I shouldn’t have left you hangin, but I decided to dabble in thrills and suspense for the next chapter of “Sons & Daughters” and I couldn’t wait to share it. If you missed the first chapter, here you go! I promise I’ll have the full episode published this week. It’s all typed out for editing. Till then, take care of you.
