Ama Pomaa writes Inspirational fiction. Her debut novel, A time to part, won 1st prize in the Ayi Kwei Armah Novel Award from the Ghana Association of Writers.
Ama, born Leticia Oppong, grew up in the Brong-Ahafo region of Ghana with her parents and three sisters. She started writing in the Senior High School. Her stories were mostly a regurgitation of the many action movies she watched in her teens. She’s still a sucker for thrillers, which explains why she sneaks suspense into all her writings.
Her first novel, published in 2017, was a fruit of love born after six years of labor. The purpose of her books is always to carry the message of the gospel.
These days, she lives in Ghana’s capital, Accra.
